Joe, Great to see your e-mail. I'm Bill Harris, we worked a radio relay site with Bob on the hill overlooking the air strip at Chu Lai in 1966. If I remember correctly the operations were "Jason" and "Golden Fleece". It's great to finally see communications from some of the guys I actually sat on sites with. Good to see some of us are still out there. Blessings, Bill Harris

Hi Bill - Please forgive me but I don't remember hardly anyone from the Nam. I remember Bob because we lived near each other (before & after). Do you have a photo of yourself back then - I am much better with faces than names. Chu Lai was the first place we landed at in the Nam - the one thing that stands out about that place is it was there that I learned how to burn sh#t using Kerosine. For some reason, I was always on the "Latrine Duty" detail. Did we meet then??? (HA). Take Care JoeB

Joe, Yep we did the sanitary engineering thing together!!! As for the picture, I don't have much left from those days. I do have a few pictures and one of them is of Acosta. He was gassing up one of those nasty little generators... no shirt and his trousers looked like they would fit a 6'-5" guy. I rememner you two probably better than most of the others because you guys always seemed to have a good time. Just for info, I was the skinny white kid from Ohio that couldn't think of anything but getting the tour over and returning home to get married. I did it! Mary Lou and I will be married for 38 years this coming March. I hope all has been as well with you. Bill Harris

I am like the other guy, I remember faces perfectly. Though Bob Acosta with that ear to ear grin I remember, and yes his pants always looked that way. How could we forget Chu Lai and the shot to the Korean Marines from the hill above Chu Lai. I ended up on both ends of that shot. The beer was better with the Korean Marines. Any body from the "old" Battalion be sure to say HI!
