I am a journalist for the Dutch newspaper de Volkskrant, from Amsterdam. With a collegue, I am working on an article on the life of Theodore Van Staveren, a Dutch citizen who died in Vietnam on the 10th of April 1968, as a Marine from the 7th Communications Battalion, Radio Relay and Construction Company, assigned to the South Korean Marines.
We have been in contact with Theo's sister Bea Hardiman, who will help us. We are looking for Marines who have known Theodore in Vietnam, and who can maybe tell us more on his character, his time in Vietnam and the circumstances of his death.
