Col. Tom Kalas doesn't have e-mail but we do have his address. Send me your's and I will forward it to him. He is real involved with a group in Hawaii and was at our last reunion. You can see a current picture of him by going to our photo section.

HELLO MY NAMES IS LARRY PARISH AND I WAS STATIONED AT CAMP HORNO I THINK FROM THE LAST PART OF 1959 AND 1960 I WAS ROTATED WITH PART OF THE BN. TO OKINAWA IN 1960. MY MOS. WAS 3531 WHICH IS A TRUCK DRIVER BUT I WAS ASIGNED TO RADIO RELAY. I WOULD LIKE TO TALK TO SOME OF THE GUYS FROMT THAT ERRA. DOES ANY BODY KNOW A MARINE THAT WAS IN 7TH COMM. HIS NAME IS DON SPRAGUE AND HE WAS FROM SPRINGFIELD OH. I AM VERY GLAD TO FIND THAT 7TH COMM. HAS A WEB SITE.

I joined 7th comm 20 Dec 1957. We were the initial group to make up 7th Comm Came from 1/7 and other from all over the 1st Mar Div. With in 30 days of forming up were on LSTs bound for the Phillipines. Radio jeeps and comm vans on one LST and operating gear on another and so it went, I always wondered if 7th Comm got organized

Was in Radio Plt. Dec 64-Mar65 Camp Horno. 2531 Radio Op. Mar 65 boarded .USS Hugh Gaffey for Okinawa via Hawaii. Camp Hansen for a few weeks, then down the pond on an LST to Taiwan to hump up a mountain or 2 before landing at ReD Beach DaNang 1965 with 9thMEB. Stayed 7thComm till Nov 65 then we became 5thComm (China Beach - Hoa Long). Feb 66 or therabouts did Ops Double Eagle I and II. Left RVN July 66, picked up Sgt stripes and was shipped off to 2ndMarDiv (Lejune) final RFAD Mar 67.
Remember guys from Horno : Cpl Stoney Carlson, Larry and Gary Goodwin, Max G. Clough (Cluff), Willie McCullum, Reggie Laudermilk, Sgt. Watson (TSC 15 Vans) McHale from New York, McCarthy (6 for 5 loan shark LOL), Jerry Ball (Surfer), Frank G.L. Baldwin, Lt. Singleton, Cpl Laird (Office Clerk). Mike Foster, Cpl. Shultz and Cpl. Larson (armorer)
In Nam remember Goodwin Brothers, Bob Yount, Steve "Eliot" Neff, thingy Keene, Treese (Karate dude), Mike Bradly (Minnesota). My memory is getting bad..!!
Currently retired and living in Baguio City Philippines. 2 kids in College (BSN Nursing) to join Navy as Nurse Corps Officers in 08.

Name is Jim Winkels, I was at Horno from Dec. '61 till Aug. 64. We used to switch off keeping the Msg Cen going with the Comm Support guys. I think if we could have worked the Msg Cen all the time I would have stayed in but when we weren't in it they seemed to find SO much time for BS! What time frame did you fellas go over to VietNam?
